CARE TRAK RESCUE OF LOCKPORT

Chief William Kendziora and the Lockport Poilce Department would like to announce that on Tuesday July 13, 2010, our Care Trak Rescue Program is availalbe to all eligible Lockport citizens. The Care Trak Rescue Program will assist Lockport Police Officers in locating at-risk persons suffering from Alzheimer's Disease, Autism, Dementia, Down syndrome or other related mentally dysfunctional disorder, who have a tendency to wander away from their care givers and return them home safely.
The Care Trak Rescue is much more than a passive identification bracelet. It is a one ounce, water-resistant transmitter that emits a tracking signal every second, 24 hours a day. The signal can be tracked on the ground by trained police officers on foot or in vehilces. As each transmitter bracelet has a unique radio frequency, the Care Trak Rescue search team is able to positively locate, identify and return the person who has wandered away from home or a care facility, usually in 30 minutes or less.
Any citizen who is a participant in the Care Trak Rescue Program will wear the personalized transmitter on their wrist or ankle 24 hours a day, seven days a week and will also need a 24 hour, seven days a week care giver in the residence. When a care giver notifies the Lockport Police Department that a participant is missing, our search and rescue team responds and starts searching with their Care Trak Rescue emergency tracking equipment.
The participant/ Care giver will need to complete and meet all criteria on the Search and Rescue Care giver Agreement Contract, Personal Data Questionnaire, the confidential Client Profile, a complete application, including the eligibility verification form.
